New tramlines

In 2019, several new tram lines came into service in Antwerp, making it even easier for you to reach FORWARD Belgium secretariat by public transport.

At Antwerp-Central Station (Koningin Astridplein) you can now take tram 24 in the direction of Havenhuis. Get off after 5 stops at Londen, just before Londen bridge. It is then a 10-minute walk (800m), across Londen bridge, along Nassaustraat over Nassau bridge and then past the MAS and Van Schoonbekeplein.

Those coming from the north and wishing to use public transport can take tram 1. You can leave the car at P+R Luchtbal or Kinepolis and take tram 1 from there in the direction of Zuid. Get off at Noorderplaats. From there it is a 12-minute walk to the FORWARD Belgium secretariat along Londenstraat, across Londen bridge, along Nassaustraat over Nassau bridge and then past the MAS and Van Schoonbekeplein.

If you are coming from East Flanders you can leave the car at P+R Melsele or P+R Linkeroever. There you can take the tram to the right bank of the river Scheldt. At the renovated Opera station you can then change to tram 1 in the direction of P+R Luchtbal. Get off at Noorderplaats.

From Mortsel and Berchem you can take tram 7, which brings you close to the FORWARD Belgium secretariat. Get off at Brouwersvliet.

Low-emission zone

In order to improve the air quality, the centre of Antwerp and Linkeroever are now a low-emission zone (LEZ). The most polluting vehicles are no longer allowed to enter the city. Avoid a fine and always check your vehicle before coming to Antwerp.

Parking

The best option for parking is Rijnkaai Car Park, on the crossroads of Rijnkaai and Amsterdamstraat. This is only a few minutes’ walk from the FORWARD Belgium secretariat. You pay a fixed sum of €5 every time you park, which allows you to park for a maximum of 24 consecutive hours . Pay - before leaving the car park - the parking fee by entering your number plate in one of the machines. You can also pay by text message (SMS) and/or app (zone code = AN991). Attention, you are not permitted to remain in a parking space for any longer than 24 consecutive hours . Do bear in mind that this car park is sometimes closed for events.

Another option is the Q-Park Godefriduskaai (entrance: Zeevaartstraat 11), also only a few minutes’ walk. This costs €2.00 for every 35 minutes (maximum day rate: €22).

From 1 August 2023, the city of Antwerp introduced a parking zone where only residents with a parking permit and certain permit holders are allowed to park on the street. The Brouwersvliet was not included in this new zone. To park in the Brouwersvliet, you need to pay between 9 am and 10 pm from Monday to Saturday, and you may remain for a maximum of 3 hours. This costs €2.30 for 1 hour and €5.70 for 2 hours.

Due to a lack of space, the underground car park in the CEPA building is not accessible to visitors.
